In 2015, I moved with my family from Israel to St. Louis for my husband's career.
When we arrived in St. Louis, we realized how challenging it was, especially for my kids who were 7, 9, and 11 at the time, to feel at home in this completely new world. They struggled to adjust to their new life.
About three weeks after our arrival, while we were receiving our cargo, a bag of rice was mistakenly sent to us. When I made it to my daughter, she said, "Mom, it tastes like home." That was the moment when I realized I could connect our home and our roots through food with my family.
So, I embarked on a journey to find foods around St. Louis that tasted like home. This provided comfort to my kids and helped them during the transition in our journey. Consequently, I started the company habuyta, to do exactly the same for others.
