When my family arrived in the U.S. in 2015 for my husband’s career, as immigrants with 3 kids, we felt lost.
We experienced loneliness and disconnection from home and our community.
Cooking homemade-style food made a positive impact on my family's adjustment to our new life.
I began to recreate foods that tasted like home for my family, embarking on a journey to find such foods around St. Louis.
However, we constantly faced challenges due to limited access to ingredients.
Simultaneously, the food available in restaurants didn't quite match the authentic flavors and tastes we were accustomed to back home.
During my years in St. Louis, I have met many talented international home cooks who needed support to launch their businesses. After helping a friend sell her food online, I noticed significant gaps in the market and was inspired to start Habuyta.
