FUFU nā€™ Sauce

Sunday, June 2, 2024

Chef Adjo Honsou took us on a trip to West Africa as she prepared a Vegan EGUSI with FUFU!

Egusi stew is a popular West African dish made from ground melon seeds, often combined with leafy greens, vegetables, and meat or fish. The melon seeds, known as egusi, are the primary ingredient, providing a unique, nutty flavor and thickening the stew. The dish typically includes ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, and peppers, and is seasoned with spices like tomatoes, garlic, ginger, and sometimes hot peppers for added heat. Egusi stew is commonly served with staples like pounded yam, fufu, rice, or other starchy sides, making it a hearty and flavorful meal.
